Completed Projects
Cornish BFA 2009
Client: Cornish College of the Arts
Delivered: XHTML, CSS, Javascript
Detail: The Cornish print team developed the BFA 2009 show branding in collaboration with the senior class. Kathryn Thomas and I then translated the print branding to the web. Kathryn lead the site design and HTML/CSS coding, while I helped with coding, adapted the site to our CMS, and set up the Javascript. We used a Javascript lazy-loader to speed up the page load times, and some other bits to allow users to control image scrolling from within the page.
Nick Parker
Client: Nick Parker
Delivered: XHTML, CSS, Javascript
Detail: Nick Parker is a graphic designer based in Seattle. His print work emphasizes good typography and often incorporates grid layouts - his online presence needed to reflect that as well. We incorporated some Javascript draggable elements, which allowed us to preserve the photo layouts as Nick originally designed them, while simultaneously giving his site an extra interactive touch.
Drums Along the Pacific
Client: Cornish College of the Arts
Delivered: XHTML, CSS, Javascript
Detail: Kathryn Thomas took the lead in adapting the festival's print branding for the web, while I worked on setting up the site in the Cornish CMS. We were thrown a bit of a curveball partway through this project when the page copy more than doubled in size after we had already built most of the site. Rebuilding from scratch was not an option if we were going to hit our deadline, so we adapted. I ended up implementing Javascript accordions on many sections of the copy, which allowed our existing page structures to work even as our content increased significantly.
